WIND POWER Dedicated experts in offshore engineering Fabrication of sea fastening for Bilfinger Customer: Bilfinger Marine & Offshore Systems (MOS) Country: Denmark Period: February - June 2015 Semco Maritime www.semcomaritime.com semco@semcomaritime.com August 2015 The project The overall scope for the project consisted of fabrication of 342 tons of sea fastening and handling equipment for Bilfinger MOS to facilitate the mobilization of the foundations for the SANDBANK OWF. The Project included installation of the sea fastening and handling equipment onboard the Installation Vessel Pacific ORCA. Construction was performed at Semco Maritime´s facilities at Staget in Esbjerg The Installation was performed at Semco Maritimes quay facilities at Tampenkaj in the port of Esbjerg Technical description Scope was Split into the following Items: • Fabrication of 4 pcs. TP Grillage including delivery of hydraulic system for locking the 350 ton heavy transition pieces into position during sea transport from the Port of Esbjerg to the site of SANDBANK OWF • Fabrication of sea fastening for 4 monopiles for sea transport from port of Esbjerg to the site of SANDBANK OWF. The monopiles weigh up to 880 ton • Fabrication of upending hinge. The upending hinge is used for raising the monopiles from horizontal position to vertical position. Evaluation The complete project, including both Fabrication and Installation, was delivered on time. Furthermore, we were able to optimize the execution phase by maintaining a strong focus on efficiency and minimum down time at the workshops. After completion of the project, Semco Maritime has received positive feedback from Bilfinger MO, especially due to the high quality and craftsmanship demonstrated throughout the entire project.
