The dry dock after the nine steel plinths have been submerged in the dock bottom. The leg distance is 70 m Positioning of the GustoMSC CJ70-X150 into dry dock It is needless to say that the rig must be installed precisely in order to be accepted for jacking up. A very detailed rig installation procedure has been prepared, and the warranty surveyor has issued a Certificate of Approval (CoA) stating that docking facilities meet regulatory, technical and safety requirements. The 690 MPa top steel plates have been painted in bright red and marked with chord and leg number in black. The rack plates of the rig legs must be in clear contact with the 1m x 2m steel top plate. Installation phases: 1. The first phase is when the rig arrives at Haughlandsosen. Here, three (3) harbour tugs and one (1) line boat will take over the rig from the anchor handling tugs (AHTs) used for sea carriage. 2. The tugs will manoeuvre the CJ70 rig to the gateway of the dry dock where the line boat will pull the wires from the eight (8) winches - four (4) onshore winches and four (4) rig winches. The tow master, the offshore installation manager (OIM) and the warranty surveor will be responsible for towing the rig into the right position. Moreover, a mooring or dock master will be re- sponsible for the winches. The mooring or dock master will refer to the tow master. Before entering the dry dock, the jack-up will be fitted with hi-tech positioning The winches are just about to take over the rig from the harbor tugs and prepare for the final approach equipment including total laser stations and rotating prisms. Final tow-in can be followed via two (2) control systems with real time-monitoring screens onshore and on board the rig. 3. When the rig is assumed to be in the correct position, three (3) remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) will be launched on the orders of the tow master - one per leg. One of the ROVs is a spare vehicle. A radio link system used for the ROVs will allow the tow master, warranty surveyor and dock master to visually verify the position of the legs. All equipment used for tow-in is with double or triple backup. It is our expectation that the installation can be carried out in 24 hours
