SemSound The SemSound Public Address/ General Alarm system is a fully digital system specially designed by Semco Maritime to the high safety requirements in the oil and gas and wind industry. The system is based on fully digital signal processing. The communication between the units is achieved via fibre optic cables. Fully digital and redundant system The redundant network controllers are the heart of the PA/GA system. The units are capable of controlling the system simultaneously routing up to 28 audio channels and fault reporting. Remote controlled via Internet The Public Address and General Alarm systems can be configured either remotely via the internet or locally. The system is supplied with a user-friendly interface and an extensive event logging for diagnostic purposes Worldwide TCP/IP integration Multiple PA network integration is possible via redundant fully monitored gateways for either private or public TCP/IP networks. The system also delivers a long range of new innovative features, i.e. up to 16 calls in queue, integrated storage of calls to prevent acoustic feed-back, background music, Automatic Volume Control, equalizing, hot standby amplifiers, Line detection, system fault detection etc. When power consumption, heat and space are an issue The power amplifiers are class D amplifiers characterized by very high efficiency (up to 97%). Class D amplifiers are available as 8 x 60 Watt, 4 x 125 Watt, 2 x 250 Watt, 1 x 500 Watt amplifiers. Call stations A wide range of call/access stations are available. Both EXi and non-ex call stations can interface to the central system via fibre or cupper cables. SemSound also supports a PC based call station that gives access to zone selection via TCP/IP and graphic displays. The advanced EXm call stations include 10 freely programmable keys. Customers world wide Since the introduction of SemSound, Semco Maritime has already sold the system world-wide to a long range of customers in the oil and gas industry, both for fixed and mobile units offshore and for onshore based installations. All these systems have fulfilled even the highest expectations of our customers. The key factors of the system are: • Fully redundant and digital with CD sound quality • Distributed system based on SM and MM fibre optical cables • Low power consumption and low heat emission • Low costs for commissioning, maintenance and upgrade • Software-based setup including web-based remote configuration and monitoring. Hardware options • Single system • Redundant system • Purged system • Integrated UPS • Gas logic control system APPROVALS The central equipment is fully approved according to: • SOLAS • EVAC IEC 60849 and IEC 60065. • IEC60945
