Chemical injection systems Semco Maritime regularly supplies various types of chemical injection systems to the oil and gas industry. Our chemical injection systems are designed, developed and built to our customers’ specifications. We supply mainly to the offshore sector both for platforms and FPSO’s. Below an example of a typical chemical injection system including details of its functions. Pump skid A chemical injection pump skid is designed to be mounted on an open skid frame. The design incorporates a fully extended drip tray with instruments and pumps mounted on the frame. The system has 100% redundancy using two parallel pumps, one duty and one standby, this ensures availability and system reliability. A typical chemical injection skid includes the following components: • • • • • • • • Pump strainers Calibration pot Chemical injection pump Pulsation damper Relief valve Pressure gauge Filter Flow element and transmitters A pump skid can either pump the media directly into the process or through a distribution panel. Distribution panel The distribution panel receives the media from the chemical pump skid and leads the media into the process at multiple injection points. The distribution panel is designed as a non walk-in panel. The panel is manufactured from SS316 3mm in thickness, maintenance doors located at the back of the panel provide easy access to the equipment. The operation of the controls such as: • • • • Pressure gauge Flow transmitter Constant flow valves Change over valves to/from calibration manifolds is located at the front of the panel in order to ensure the ease of operation. As an option a 2/2 solenoid operating valve can be installed to cut off the injection flow remotely.
